Preparation Versus Procrastination On Moving

Personally, I'd rather have a root canal without novocaine than pack and move.  Yet, I've cleaned out refrigerators; "skated" on a dish towel over wood floors in a dress because all the cleaning supplies had just driven off; walked boxes to and fro with the movers; swept out garages.  I've even painted walls.  Been there.  Done that.

But to hold down on the agony of the inevitable is to stay organized and be prepared.  You're going to be putting the house up for sale, right?  There are jobs secured and schools to register.  Neighborhoods and friends to learn and meet.  The list is long.  And procrastination is knocking at the door.  Take some weight off your shoulders and start delegating!

You may think your real estate agent is there to take pictures, stick a sign in the yard (cross fingers for a quick sale!) and advertise in the local MLS, but a great agent is there from the beginning.  This is their forte.  Their field naturally has them gathering trusted vendors to refer in every aspect of real estate.  Need a plumber?  Ask your REALTOR®.  Looking for a mover who will arrive with your life in boxes the same way they left?  That would be your REALTOR®.

Grab a three-ring binder and have a stack of plastic sleeves and use it as your go-to reference to stay organized.  Shove all the receipts, notes, fliers, business cards, utilities in there.  And communicate.  Think of your listing agent as the captain of the ship.  From one destination to another, your captain will be ensuring you're prepared and handing you off to your buying agent.  They work in tandem.  We have real estate connections all across the world.  Your role shouldn't involve fretting and worrying if you had the utilities turned off or on.  Be prepared.  Hand off the stressful part and enjoy the trip.  Make the destination an adventure. Image title

Considering moving?  No matter where you are, it's very likely we can connect you to a trusted REALTOR®.  And that agent is at the ready to place you in reliable hands.  With any luck, a mixologist is in that three-ring binder!  For all of your real estate needs - be it lending, school information, nanny services or moving, I am but a phone call away.  Safe travels!
